Stylish hand painted Chinese or Japanese cloisonné enamel heavy gauge gilt bronze two section table casket or spice container of hexagonal outline and of exceptional quality. These rare pieces can be difficult to date, circa first half of the 20th century. The outer body finely hand decorated on all panels depicting flowers and foliage amongst scrolling gilt decoration, on an Emerald green ground, inside areas with kingfisher blue enamel. These pieces are typically unmarked. Measures: Height (entire) 4” (10cm), width 3.25" (8cm), depth 2.75” (7cm). Condition: good vintage condition. There is one very small spot on the lids scalloped edge design where one tiny piece of blue enamel is missing. See photos. Back and front views are similar.
